Google Cloud Customers Unable To Access Files

A glitch in Google Drive has barred users from accessing files spanning the past six months. The issue arose on November 22, as some users discovered their Drive reverted to a version from May 2023. Google acknowledged the problem and said they are actively investigating, although the exact number of affected users globally is still unknown. Users affected voiced frustration over lost files, highlighting their impact and how it is causing distress.
Some criticized Google’s service, expressing readiness for legal action. While Google seeks a resolution, affected users are advised against modifying their Drive accounts and encouraged to create file backups if possible.
Experts stressed the importance of Google providing a comprehensive explanation, especially for concerned business customers worried about data loss and liability.
