Staff Members Of Covenant University Get 20% Salary Increase

Authorities of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, have approved an upward review of the salary for its workers. In a statement, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Abiodun Adebayo, made this known on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

The university Don stated that the decision by the management to increase the salaries of the staff members was necessitated by the harsh impact of subsidy removal, which has pushed the country into a high rate of inflation. Adebayo also maintained that the move was aimed at mitigating the effects of inflation.

The Vice-Chancellor, who mentioned that the increase would take effect in September, added that it was meant to motivate the workers for effective service delivery. He thanked the Board of Regents of the university, headed by Dr. David Oyedepo, for making such a decision to cushion the adverse effects of the economy on the university workers.

While reassuring the achievement of the Vision 7-2030 Agenda, Adebayo stressed that such initiatives could help attain the goal faster.
