Liverpool FC has provided an update on Luis Diaz after it emerged that the Liverpool forward parents were kidnapped on Saturday in Columbia.
Liverpool confirmed that the mother of the forward has been found, while a search is still ongoing for his father.
According to several reports, the pair were at a service station in the La Guajira area when armed men on motorbikes took them.
“Liverpool Football Club can confirm it is aware of an ongoing situation involving the family of Luis Díaz in Colombia.
“It is our fervent hope that the matter is resolved safely and at the earliest possible opportunity. In the meantime, the player’s welfare will continue to be our immediate priority.”
