Tesla Dragged To Court For Discriminating Black Workers

—

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has taken legal action against Tesla, owned by Elon Musk.

They accused Tesla of breaking the law by allowing racial harassment against its Black employees and punishing those who tried to stop it.

This isn’t the first time Tesla has faced such allegations.

Last year, the California Civil Rights Department also sued them for similar reasons.

In another case, Tesla had to pay a former Black worker $3.2 million for severe racial harassment.

The EEOC says that since 2015, Black workers at Tesla have been enduring racial insults, including hurtful names and slurs. Shockingly, they found racist graffiti around the workplace, like swastikas and the N-word.

Even though Black employees reported this behavior, Tesla allegedly did little to stop it. Some Black workers claim they were fired shortly after complaining about harassment.

The lawsuit argued that Tesla has violated a law called Title VII, which forbids racial discrimination at work.

The EEOC wants a trial to hold Tesla accountable, compensate affected individuals, impose fines, and ensure Tesla takes steps to prevent racism in the future.

Tesla has not yet commented on this matter.
