Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, has removed a group of employees responsible for ensuring fair elections on the platform. He believes they were doing the opposite.

Previously, Twitter had announced plans to increase teams dedicated to election safety. However, Musk has now dismissed several team members, including their leader, Aaron Rodericks.

Musk, who is very wealthy, had pledged to support free speech on Twitter when he acquired it.

In April, Twitter introduced new rules to limit the spread of false information without deleting posts. They also added a tool for users to provide context to potentially misleading content.

Some people criticized Musk for firing the previous team that moderated content. He had previously spoken out against the suppression of certain voices on social media during the 2020 election.

Musk also released internal documents revealing how Twitter made decisions about content, including blocking the spread of a report about a politician’s family.

Groups concerned about certain content on Twitter have called on advertisers to stop using the platform.

Musk even threatened to sue a group that accused him of unfair practices.
