Mercy Aigbe, Yul Edochie share insight on marriage

In an interview with Punch News, Mercy Aigbe shares insight into the success of her marriage with her husband, Kazim Adeoti.

She said,

“We disagree. I am very stubborn, and he is also stubborn. However, we respect each other’s opinions, and we don’t argue unnecessarily.

Rather, we argue sensibly, and then we don’t look down on each other. Whenever any one of us makes a point, we both think about it and figure out the best way to do things.

Our relationship is built on mutual understanding and respect, and that has been helping us.

He is actually a very understanding person, and he is not the bossy type. He is a good listener, and that makes him a good leader. Whenever I talk, he listens. He tries to reason with me, and we meet in the middle.

I like his smile and dark skin. Beyond all that, I like his person. He is a very wise person, who communicates a lot. I believe that communication is key in a relationship because it helps understanding.

I don’t like people [who] don’t talk. If you don’t talk, I [won’t] know how you are feeling or what you want me to do.

I also like the fact that he is very understanding. Whenever he feels that he is wrong, he apologizes.”

In these modern times the words “Till death do us part,” are crumbling especially in the celebrity world. Everyone seems to have their idea of what makes for a happy and long-lasting marriage. On Saturday, Yul Edochie who got separated from his first wife, May Edochie, offered his insight on marriage.

He said;

“Marriage is a beautiful thing, don’t let anyone discourage you. If your dream is to get married, go ahead and achieve your dream.”

“A few tips can help you have a long-lasting marriage but there is no laid down proven formula to it. You can marry someone you dated for 10 years and the marriage won’t last. You can marry someone you met yesterday and have a long-lasting marriage. And most times the main reason for a marriage crash is not revealed on social media. Only the couple know exactly what went wrong.”

“Marriage is also not a do-or-die affair. Try your best to make it work, if it doesn’t, it’s not the end of the world. Wish yourselves well and move on.”

“Some journeys last forever while some have to end for others to begin. Love and peace always.”

This comes after Bolanle Ninalowo’s separation announcement from his wife Bunmi Ninalowo on Friday.
