Bbnaija All Stars: Uriel Speaks On Using Her Mother’s Sickness As Strategy

Former Big Brother Naija All Stars contestant, Uriel Oputa, clarified that she deliberately avoided using her mother’s struggle with dementia as a strategy during her time on the reality show because it would have been too clichéd.

She shared that she had dedicated a whole decade to taking care of her mother and emphasized this perspective during her appearance on Channels TV’s Rubbin’ Minds recently.

Uriel expressed, “My previous reference to going through challenges was mainly about my mother. I’ve spent a significant portion of my life looking after her. The decision not to prominently feature my mother’s situation in the Big Brother House was one I made even before entering. I was concerned that it might seem like a predictable move to garner sympathy votes. I firmly believe that there’s much more to me than just that aspect.

I possess various talents, be it culinary skills, a flair for fitness, or musical abilities. My time in the House revealed that I have a strong stage presence, particularly in theatrical settings. Thus, my intention was to showcase the multifaceted sides of Uriel. While my connection with my mother is well-known among my fans for over six years, I aimed to embark on a new beginning by unveiling lesser-known facets of my personality.”
