Anambra State Association, Women in USA, Inc. and ASA Women USA Cancer Coalition in Nigeria, have made a significant contribution of N3 million to support three breast cancer survivors in Anambra State.
Three cheques of N1 million each were presented to Blessing Ebele Machi Florence, Nwogochukwu Nwosu and Nkoli Pieta Nnolum.
The Founder/ President, Dr. Mrs. Anthonia Uche-Umeh said the funds donated would assist the survivors with their ongoing hospital bills and medication.
Uche-Umeh, represented by Board Chairman of the association, Dr. Josephine Onor said ASA Women USA, established in 2011 has been actively involved in medical missions over the years.
She explained that the association presents dummy cheques to beneficiaries while the actual funds are paid directly to the hospitals for accountability.
In his remarks, the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Chris Molokwu,  commended the association’s efforts.
He said the support provided would significantly alleviate the challenges faced by the survivors, as breast cancer remains a leading cause of mortality among women today.
Assistant Coordinator Southeast for ASA Women USA, Mrs. Felicity Ebele Obiakonze emphasized the grassroots efforts in identifying survivors and confirmed that the funds are sourced from ASA Women USA, Inc.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude and prayed for the association’s continued blessings.
