18 Feared Dead as Brake Failure Triggers Multiple-Vehicle Crash in Plateau

—

At least 18 people are feared dead, with several others injured, following a multiple-vehicle crash at Hwan Kibo in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The fatal crash occurred at about 5:00 p.m. on Friday and reportedly involved a truck and several other vehicles.
The accident sparked panic in the area as residents and other road users rushed to the scene, scrambling to rescue victims and provide emergency assistance.

Confirming the incident, the Plateau State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Adelaja Ogungbemi, attributed the crash to brake failure.

According to Ogungbemi, the truck suffered a brake failure, causing the driver to lose control and crash into other vehicles.
