Zulum, Ribadu, others join Shettima for stepmother’s burial

Borno State Governor, Engr Babagana Umara Zulum, received a delegation from the presidency, headed by the national security adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, along with numerous distinguished Nigerians. 

They gathered to support Vice President Kashim Shettima during the burial of his stepmother, Hajja Hauwa Abba Kormi, in Maiduguri on Thursday evening.

The funeral ceremony, overseen by the Chief Imam of Borno, Laisu Ibrahim Ahmad, marked the farewell to Hajja Hauwa Kormi, who passed away at the age of 69 after a prolonged illness. She is survived by five children, several stepchildren, and grandchildren.

The solemn occasion drew the presence of notable figures, including Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan representing Borno Central and Mohammed Tahir Monguno representing Borno North.

Members of the House of Representatives, as well as the Borno State House Assembly led by Speaker Abdulkarim Lawan, also paid their respects.

Among the attendees were the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, the Managing Director of the North East Development Commission, Mohammed Goni Alkali, and various members of the Borno State Executive Council, alongside other government officials.

The gathering reflected a collective expression of sympathy and solidarity during this somber moment.
