Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, recently supported 6,500 households in Marte Local Government Area with food and cash assistance.

Marte, a region in Borno State, faced challenges due to attacks and occupation by the extremist group Boko Haram.

However, thanks to the efforts of the Nigerian military, the area was liberated, and displaced persons were able to return home.

Governor Zulum played a significant role in resettling internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Marte on November 30, 2020.

The distribution process was carefully organized and supervised. On Monday, 3,000 male-headed households received generous portions of rice and maize, providing essential food supplies.

The following day, 3,500 female-headed households were supported with cash assistance of N5,000 each, along with traditional wrappers. This initiative aimed to alleviate the hardships faced by families in the area.

Additionally, the Executive Chairman of Marte, Hon. Babagana Abatcha, and community leader Alhaji Ali Shettima Marte were present to support the initiative.

The collaborative efforts of government officials and community leaders demonstrate a commitment to rebuilding and supporting communities affected by conflict and displacement in Borno State.

Through such initiatives, Governor Zulum and his team strive to improve the lives of residents and foster stability and development in the region.
