Zimbabwe has recorded its first drone delivery of medicines from the capital, Harare, to the city of Marondera, about 75 kilometers away.
On its return journey, the drone transported blood samples to a laboratory for testing, TV BRICS, a partner of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, satellite internet was used to operate the drone during the delivery.
Zimbabwean authorities are working to expand internet access across the country to support the wider adoption of such technologies.

The new delivery method is expected to help healthcare facilities receive essential medicines and transport medical samples to laboratories more quickly.
The report noted that drone technology could be particularly beneficial to remote communities that are difficult to access by road, potentially improving the timely delivery of medical supplies and diagnostic services.
