Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has explained that she left her marriage because she was contributing more financially than her ex-husband.
In 2019, Jegede confirmed that her marriage to actor Olakunle ‘Abounce’ Fawole had ended, less than a year after their wedding.
In a teaser for the upcoming episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast, Jegede said she regretted choosing love over money.
She also mentioned that her ex-husband often took her jokes as disrespect because he was older than her, which contributed to their divorce.

She said: “He [my ex-husband] is eight years older than me. But once we got married, if I joked and said, ‘You’re crazy,’ he’d say I was disrespecting him. I felt he wasn’t the same person I married.
“But that wasn’t the main reason I left. The main reason was that I was bringing in most of the money. I’m taking care of my son like nobody else is around. It’s not easy. I wish I had chosen money over love.”
