Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has commended the Federal Government for reallocating the contract for the Kano-Kaduna-Abuja highway, describing the move as a significant step that will hasten the completion of the long-awaited project.
Yusuf gave the commendation on Saturday while inspecting ongoing work at the construction site along the Kano-Zaria road.
The governor called on the contractors handling the project to ensure high standards in execution, emphasising that the road must be built to last.
According to him, the decision to reassign the contract reflects the Federal Government’s resolve to ensure the project is completed according to specification and within the expected timeframe.
He further urged the contractors to avoid cutting corners and focus on delivering durable infrastructure that would stand the test of time.
Yusuf also praised President Bola Tinubu for pursuing developmental projects across the country, noting that the completion of the road would significantly enhance economic activities, ease transportation, and strengthen connectivity between northern states and the nation’s capital, Abuja.
