Abuja – Some youth in the Yobe State expressed doubt over the success of their People’s Democratic Party in next year’s general actions amid infighting within the state chapter of the party.
A member of the so-called Concerned Youth, Abubakar Adamu, told journalists in Damaturu that the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Abdul Bulama, who is the leader of the party in the state, had a questionable leadership style that was making the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state to garner more support at the detriment of the PDP.
“I think President Goodluck Jonathan needs to know that the PDP in Yobe state is in for another bad time again. We felt our current leader of the party in the state would carry everybody along especially considering the moves by our National Chairman, Adamu Mauzu to salvage the party in the state,” said Adamu.

“Unfortunately, Dr Bulama is not a politician and he is not ready to learn from people on ground. We want the minister to realize that the party is very important to us and we are committed to working for the success of the party come 2015 with the right leadership but he has so far failed to do this,” Adamu lamented.
Bulama’s spokesman, Hassan Gimba Ahmed, argued his principal was working hard to deliver the party in the state.
“Those accusing Bulama are not fair to him. The minister is working very hard to ensure electoral victories for the party in Yobe state at all levels. For the first time in the history of the party, the minister hosted a successful stakeholders meeting in Damaturu with all the leaders in attendance,” Gimba said.
Independent investigations revealed that the PDP in Yobe State is factionalized into three, Adamu Waziri Group, Yerima Ngama Group and the Neutral Group, all fighting for the soul of the party.
