Yobe woos investors for sesame seeds and Gum Arabic investments

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, is actively encouraging investments in the state, pledging to create a conducive environment to attract investors for both direct and indirect contributions to the production and processing of sesame seeds, gum Arabic, and livestock, aiming to boost economic growth.

In response to the ranking of states based on the ease of doing business in Nigeria, Governor Buni highlighted Yobe’s achievement of securing the 9th position nationally, particularly significant for a state emerging from prolonged security challenges.

Governor Buni expressed, “This demonstrates our swift progress, positioning Yobe as an exceptionally business-friendly state.”

He attributed this success to the improved security situation and the implementation of incentives by the state government, emphasizing Yobe’s commitment to becoming a frontrunner in trade, commerce, and overall business development.

Highlighting key developments, Governor Buni mentioned the completion and commissioning of the international cargo airport designed to facilitate local and international trade.

He also cited the construction of modern markets equipped with fireproof facilities, aimed at supporting and enhancing the business community.

Governor Buni asserted that his administration actively reached out to international traders, urging them to explore the untapped potential in the production and processing of sesame seeds, gum Arabic, and livestock within Yobe State.

He assured the audience of continued efforts to improve collaboration, emphasizing effective and efficient engagement to promote business activities in the state.
