Yobe State Spelling Bee Enters Third Day Amidst Government Support

The Yobe State Spelling Bee competition has reached its third day, having commenced on Wednesday, 10 July, 2024.
The event was officially inaugurated in Damaturu by the State governor, Alhaji Mai Mala Buni.
In his absence, the governor was represented by his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, who delivered a speech on his behalf.
During the opening ceremony, the governor’s representative conveyed deep appreciation for the organizers’ efforts in putting together the competition.
 He assured them of the government’s full support throughout the duration of the event. The governor also reiterated the administration’s strong commitment to investing in education and supporting various educational programs within the state.
Additionally, Dr. Mohammed Goje, the executive secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency and host of the program, made a call to the state government to adopt the project at an official level.
He emphasized the importance of such educational initiatives and the positive impact they have on the youth.
This year marks the second edition of the Yobe State Spelling Bee, a word-spelling competition designed for school children.
The three-day program features participation from 72 schools across the 17 Local Government Areas in Yobe State.
The event is set to conclude on Friday 12 July 2024, with the anticipation of crowning the best speller among the young contestants.
