Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have arrested several suspected members and logistics suppliers of terrorist groups during separate operations across Kaduna State.
The arrests were carried out on September 9, 2026, and involved a suspected terrorist kingpin, an alleged ammunition courier and a suspected logistics supplier, according to details of the operations.
In Dabar Dabo, Kubau Local Government Area, troops conducting a clearance operation arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin alongside two alleged members of his syndicate.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent their activities across communities in the North-West.
In a separate operation in Igabi Local Government Area, troops acting on intelligence arrested a 50-year-old woman who was allegedly transporting 300 rounds of ammunition concealed inside a bag.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the ammunition had reportedly been collected in Lafia and was allegedly being transported to terrorists operating around Birnin Gwari.
Later the same day, troops, working with a community vigilante group, apprehended another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari.
Four communication devices suspected to have been used by terrorists were also recovered during the operation.
The arrests and recoveries underscore the security forces’ focus on disrupting not only terrorist fighters but also the logistics, ammunition supply and communication networks supporting their operations.
Security experts have continued to emphasise the importance of intelligence gathering and community cooperation in the fight against terrorism and violent crime.
The latest operations in Kaduna highlight the role of timely intelligence in enabling security forces to identify and intercept suspected criminal activities before they escalate.
