Wilfred Ndidi’s Strike Returns Leicester City to the Summit of the Championship

—

Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi early goal for the Foxes against West Bromwich Albion has aided the club’s return to the summit of the English Championship.

Wilfred Ndidi fired Leicester into an early lead with his sumptuous 22nd goal. Jamie Vardy widened the lead to 2-0 in the second half after missing from the spot kick just a few seconds before the end of the first half. Unfortunately for Leicester, English forward Jed Wallace pulled one back for Albion.

Three Nigerian players, Wilfred Ndidi, Josh Maja, and Semi Ajayi, were part of the matchday squads for both teams, whereas Kelechi Iheanacho was not included in the matchday squad. Ndidi and Maja featured for their respective clubs, while Semi Ajayi was an unused substitute.

With five games to conclude the season, Leicester City goes top and are two points ahead of their closest rival, Ipswich.
