A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State has raised concerns over the whereabouts of medical equipment he said he personally purchased and donated to a hospital to improve conditions for patients.
The lawmaker questioned the management of the facility over more than 50 ceiling fans, over 40 standing fans and 50 orthopaedic mattresses, which he said were provided to enhance patients’ comfort and the hospital environment.
In a video circulating on social media obtained by The News Chronicle on Tuesday, the lawmaker was seen confronting the situation and demanding an explanation over the missing items.
“I bought over 50 ceiling fans, over 40 standing fans and 50 orthopaedic mattresses. Where are they?” he asked.
The development has sparked reactions from Nigerians online, with some calling for transparency and an investigation into the management of donated equipment at public health facilities.
Social media reports accompanying the video alleged that some of the donated items may have been sold by hospital personnel. However, the allegation has not been independently verified, and no official response from the hospital management was immediately available.
The lawmaker expressed concern that patients could still be experiencing poor conditions despite the substantial equipment he said had been donated to the facility.
