WhatsApp Introduces New 1-Minute Voice Message Status Update Feature

WhatsApp
WhatsApp is set to enhance its status update feature by allowing users to set voice messages up to a minute long as status updates. This new feature is currently available to a limited number of users on the latest beta version of the app.
Previously, WhatsApp users were restricted to sharing 30-second voice messages as status updates. The extension to one minute is a significant upgrade for those who prefer voice note status updates, removing the inconvenience of having to split recordings into multiple segments.
To access and use this feature, users need to update WhatsApp to the latest version. Once updated, users can set a voice note as a status update by opening the app, navigating to the ‘Updates’ tab, and using the microphone icon to record and share their message.
While the feature is now available to some beta testers, WhatsApp has not provided a specific timeline for its stable release. The rollout will continue gradually, reaching more users in the coming weeks.
In addition to this feature, WhatsApp has introduced other updates, such as AI-generated profile pictures, screenshot prevention for profile pictures on iPhones, and a redesigned voice call UI. These enhancements aim to improve user experience and provide more privacy and customization options.
