WhatsApp Backs Nigerian Entrepreneurs With New Business Campaign

—

WhatsApp is putting the spotlight on Nigerian entrepreneurs with a new campaign that highlights how small business owners use digital tools to attract customers and drive growth.

The three-week campaign, Power Your Hustle With WhatsApp Business, is a journey that tracks entrepreneurs in Lagos, Ibadan and Abuja through their work, discussing challenges of running their businesses and how technology has been incorporated into their daily operations.

The News Chronicle reports that the campaign features Edibles by Lera Ipapanu in Lagos, FHR Spices in Ibadan and Twinny’s Kitchen in Abuja, three businesses operating across snacks, natural food products and processed African foods.

The founders rely on WhatsApp Business features such as Catalogs and customer lists to showcase products, organize orders and maintain relationships with buyers.

They are also among businesses using Meta Business Agent, an AI-powered assistant designed to respond to customer inquiries, recommend products and support sales when business owners are unavailable.

Meta’s Head of Communications for Sub-Saharan Africa, Oluwasola Obagbemi, said Nigerian businesses are increasingly using WhatsApp for more than messaging as they seek new customers and improve sales.

The entrepreneurs’ experiences will be showcased through documentary style day in the life videos across Meta Africa and WhatsApp Business social platforms.
