From time to time, it has urgency.
It humanizes times, tests and experiences.
Do you believe that in one’s journey of life,
emotional boundaries of what place embodies
are inescapable pivotal pointers of memory, growth,
and experiences? What does place represent? Habits?
Habitats? A series of phases, deeds, distances and dreams?
Does a certain place place certain ideas into our thoughts,
or our minds are simply conditioned to ascribe precise notions
and symbols to a definite place, practice or people at a given time?
Think of the specific place or space you are in as you read this poem.
If you’re a poet or a reporter, think of how place influences your work.
Perhaps you will begin to feel and see the unseen frames of how place
swings you and swings within you. One’s attitude can birth an aptitude
whose altitude is a rational grasp and use of scenarios, outlines and options.
Maybe this could challenge one to mentally define or refine how to treat or think
of time, space, home and distance. Certain places highlight or hold sure memories
or events that were once great moments. Fond formative years. Childhood friends.
For football fans, the ongoing AFCON tournament embodies that high-quality time!
