We’re Not Backing Down- ADC Shrugs Off Pressure, Vows to Hold National Convention

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared it will go ahead with its national convention despite alleged efforts to deny it venues in the Federal Capital Territory.

Chairman of the party’s Media and Publicity Sub-committee for the convention, Kola Ologbodiyan, said the move would not derail the exercise, stressing that the party has complied with all legal requirements.

Speaking on Arise News, monitored by The News Chronicle, Ologbodiyan revealed that the ADC had formally notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), effectively insulating the convention from legal disputes.

“They say we cannot stay under the same roof, but now we have all come together under one roof,” he said. “The ruling party wants a situation where we don’t unite. They are pushing for a one-party state.”

He added that no decision has been reached on the party’s presidential candidate or the mode of primaries.

Ologbodiyan also dismissed concerns over legal hurdles, insisting there is no court order stopping the convention, and reaffirmed that the party remains resolute and undeterred.
