“We Won in 2011”: Tuggar Questions Bauchi Election, Declares Fresh Ambition

Nigeria’s former Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, has stirred political debate after revisiting the controversial 2011 Bauchi governorship election, insisting his party was denied victory.

Speaking during Sunrise Daily on Channels Television, alongside analysts Maokpe Ogu Yusuf in Abuja and Ayo Makinde in Lagos, and monitored by The News Chronicle, Tuggar described himself as a long-standing grassroots politician who has been active in Bauchi politics for years.

He revealed that he contested the governorship election in 2011 under the Congress for Progressive Change, claiming the party actually won the poll. According to him, the process was deeply flawed, citing the absence of card readers, the imposition of a curfew, and a two-day postponement of the election which he alleged created room for external interference.

Tuggar’s remarks come as he signals renewed political ambition in Bauchi State, setting the stage for what could be a contentious political contest ahead.
