We Will Never Stand Down— Nicki Minaj to Address UN on Alleged Christian Genocide in Nigeria

American rap star Nicki Minaj is scheduled to speak at a United Nations event in New York on Tuesday, November 18, where she will spotlight the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

Minaj will appear alongside Michael Waltz, the United States ambassador to the UN, and Alex Bruesewitz, senior adviser to President Donald Trump and convener of the event.

The trio is expected to discuss claims of widespread attacks on Christians in Nigeria and outline the Trump administration’s efforts to confront the issue.

In the build-up to the event, top US officials have praised Minaj for using her global platform to raise awareness.

Both the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) have previously described the situation as a “genocide.”

“@NICKIMINAJ is not only arguably the greatest female recording artist, but also a principled individual who refuses to remain silent in the face of injustice,” Waltz said. “I’m grateful she’s leveraging her massive platform to spotlight the atrocities against Christians in Nigeria, and I look forward to standing with her as we discuss the steps the President and his administration are taking to end the persecution of our Christian brothers and sisters.”

Minaj, in a post on X, expressed gratitude for the invitation and vowed to continue speaking out.

I am so grateful to be entrusted with an opportunity of this magnitude. I do not take it for granted. It means more than you know,” she wrote. “The Barbz and I will never stand down in the face of injustice. We’ve been given our influence by God. There must be a bigger purpose.”

The UN appearance marks one of Minaj’s most prominent forays into international human-rights advocacy.
