We Have Enough Fuel Supply- NNPC Assures

As the year winds down, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, has assured Nigerians that there would be no shortages in the supply of petroleum products across the country.

Chief Executive Officer of the NNPC Mele Kyari disclosed this in a meeting with the leadership of the Senate on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. The NNPC boss assured the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and other principal members of the Senate that the NNPCL has sufficient supply of the petroleum products that could last through to the next three months.

Kyari, who expressed worries over the bad state of the pipeline network across the country, maintained that his leadership was resolute in restoring sanity in the pipeline distribution chain.

He disclosed that by December, the Port Harcourt refinery will begin operation while Warri refinery will follow suit in the first quarter of next year.

“We have robust supply plants from now until next year; we have always planned for three months. And I guarantee you, your Excellency, that we will not see any shortages in our country. You may see a number of scattered reports of filling stations that people will call queues. They are not.”

“All the ongoing activities and engagements, with the support of Mr President around how to contain the issues of infractions on our pipelines, the actions of vandals which we have been getting the support of the Senate to make sure that something is done about it, to bring it to the barest minimum; so that oil pipelines are restored, so that we can continue to increase production, and the confidence of investors so that no one would produce oil when he is not sure of producing oil for the future market.”
