The Kwankwasiyya Movement has dismissed claims by the Kano State Government that former Kano governor and NNPP leader Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is secretly working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News monitored by The News Chronicle, Kwankwasiyya spokesperson Habibu Mohammed described the allegation by Governor Abba Yusuf’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature, as misleading and unfounded.
Mohammed said Kwankwaso remains committed to Nigeria’s unity and has maintained political relationships across the country, stressing that his alliance with Peter Obi should not be seen as unusual.
According to him, Kwankwaso also enjoys a longstanding relationship with Tinubu and does not require any middleman to facilitate discussions or political alliances with the President.
“There has always been an established relationship between Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Peter Obi. The time both leaders had before the 2023 election was too short to build a stronger alliance, but we found common ground in our relationship with Obi. Peter Obi is known everywhere,” Mohammed said.
