We expect more from Fernando Torres- Jose Mourinho

Chelsea manager Jose mourinho has said that much is expected of the striker Fernando Torres while describing him as “average” as he has not lived up to his potential at Stamford Bridge.

Torres joined the Blues from Liverpool in 2011 for £50 million but has been under intense criticism after failing to replicate his best form for Chelsea.

Chelsea manager says people expect more from Torres because of the reputation he built for himself while at Liverpool, scoring 65 goals in 102 games. “Torres so far is average,” we expect more performance from him because of his potential and the good impact he has made before to his former club. But somehow, he couldn’t meet up to expectations.

‘The good news is that new season is starting by August; I will try my best in helping him to develop his skills because the reasons why we have not given up on him is that we believe with time he is going to give out his best. It’s only a matter of time for him to improve and get back to his best form’ he said.

his form dipped but he’s regained it by the looks of things, how many goals did he get last season? 22 or something, helped Chelsea win Europa league and it looked like Mata Oscar and Hazard started to work out how to give Torres the right service.

i believe the reason why mourinho says that Torres isan average player is to mke him strive to become the best he can be and not to put the guy down

we cant deny that torres is really talented though, am guessing maybe the chelsea system just doesnt suit him well or something, but i have to admit that torres is a great player.
