We dated for eight years before getting married – Groom

For Francis Oghenevwede Clark and Osayimwen Blessing Osayi, Saturday the 25th of September, 2021 will remain a memorable day they will live to cherish for the rest of their lives. This is because their beautiful love story was put to bed on that day as they eventually tied the knot to formally seal their affair.

Francis, who hails from Ethiopia East Local Government Area of Delta State and Blessing, an indigene of Oredo LGA of Edo State, were declared husband and wife at St. Francis Catholic Church, Benin City, Edo State

For the couple, who thrilled their guests in well calculated dance steps during the reception at Bishop Kelly Pastoral Event Centre, Benin, the ceremony was a culmination of the perfection of God’s handiwork in their lives.

In a chat with Stanley Ugagbe of The News Chronicle, the elated groom shared how their journey got started and how he got to know that Blessing is the flesh of his flesh.

Francis said “I met my wife in a classroom. She was actually my classmate in the University, same class, same course, same everything.

“On that faithful day she reserved a seat for her friend in class and when I came late I sat beside her without knowing the seat was reserved for someone else and luckily for me, that supposed person didn’t come to class and that was how I sat on that seat beside my wife without knowing and it was from that day we started talking closely and the rest history”.

According to Francis, their relationship lasted for eight years before they eventually tied the knot last Saturday. “We started dating since 200level,” he said.

When asked on how he knew Blessing is the one for him, Francis said “When she keeps going and coming back, that is, whenever we breakup we settle, breakup again and settle again, then I knew she is the one for me”

Remarking on what the ceremony means to him, Francis said “I feel fulfilled, I feel like a man now and not a boy. I love my wife so much and I believe that with her, everything is achievable”.

On her part, the elated bride, Blessing expressed joy over the ceremony. “I am so happy for how everything went. I thank God for the husband He gave me”.

The couple thanked families and friends who came from far and near to share in their joy especially for their support. They expressed gratitude to God for the success of the ceremony.
