Vice President Kashim Shettima has commissioned the ultramodern corporate head office of Northwest Petroleum & Gas Company Limited in Lagos, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector.
Speaking at the grand commissioning ceremony, Vice President Shettima noted that the region’s petroleum industry is strategically positioning itself for decades of robust service within a rapidly changing global energy economy. He lauded the indigenous energy company for its visionary expansion and resilience, emphasizing that private sector leadership remains critical to national economic transformation.
The Vice President explicitly attributed the fresh wave of investments and stronger performance witnessed across the oil and gas sector to the bold economic reforms championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, notably the removal of the petrol subsidy and the liberalization of the petroleum market. According to him, these decisive policy steps have created a more competitive, resilient, and investor-friendly ecosystem, laying the groundwork for sustainable industrial growth.
The new state-of-the-art corporate headquarters is equipped with modern technological infrastructure designed to optimize operational efficiency, safety standards, and service delivery as the firm scales its operations across West Africa and beyond.
Dignitaries present at the event included prominent industry captains, government officials, and key stakeholders in Nigeria’s energy sector, who all commended Northwest Petroleum & Gas for its unwavering commitment to energy security, job creation, and economic development.
