A young lady has sparked reactions on social media after claiming that doctors informed her that her 70-year-old grandmother was pregnant following a series of medical examinations.
According to the lady in a video obtained by The News Chronicle, the incident occurred while she was spending her school holiday with her grandmother.
She explained that her grandmother initially complained of persistent pain on the left side of her body, which she initially believed might have been caused by the food they ate.
“Grandma told me that she was feeling a bit of pain in her left side, and I was like, okay, fine, probably it was the semo we ate yesterday night because I was the one that made the food and we ate the same thing.”
She said her grandmother suggested that she start eating amala instead, hoping the change in diet would relieve the discomfort.
However, the pain reportedly continued for several weeks, prompting the young lady to inform other members of the family.
She said her father subsequently advised her to take her grandmother to their family doctor for proper medical attention.
The situation became more serious when the elderly woman reportedly fainted, leading the family to rush her to the hospital.
“My darling, before Sunday, my grandma fainted. That was when we rushed her to the hospital.”
At the hospital, doctors reportedly conducted several examinations, including blood and urine tests.
The lady said the initial test results did not reveal any major problem, causing the family to suspect that her grandmother might be suffering from fibroids.
According to her, however, a subsequent abdominal examination reportedly produced an unexpected result.
“We thought it was even fibroid. So we did belly test only to be told she’s pregnant.”
The alleged pregnancy diagnosis reportedly left the young lady confused and shocked, particularly because she said she and her grandmother were the only people staying at home at the time.
“Omo, I didn’t even know what to say because I was very confused. Nobody was at home; it was only me and my grandma. Only the two of us were always at home.”
The story has since gone viral on social media, with users expressing surprise and questioning the circumstances surrounding the alleged pregnancy.
However, the claim has not been independently verified, and further medical confirmation would be necessary to establish the accuracy of the reported diagnosis.
