England striker Ivan Toney was arrested in London after an alleged altercation inside a Soho nightclub that ended with the Al-Ahli forward being escorted out in handcuffs.
The 29-year-old, who returned to the UK during a break in the Saudi Pro League season, reportedly became involved in a confrontation with a group of club-goers shortly after midnight.
The News Chronicle gathered that the incident began when a fan allegedly attempted to force a selfie by grabbing Toney around the neck.
The situation escalated, with witnesses claiming the footballer pushed back and allegedly headbutted one of the men involved. The alleged victim was said to have suffered a bleeding nose before police arrived.
Accounts from those at the scene suggest Toney may have felt threatened as the group approached him while he was wearing jewellery and an expensive wristwatch.

According to one witness quoted in earlier reports, officers entered the club within minutes and moved directly to Toney’s table before placing him under arrest on suspicion of assault and affray.
Emergency services later confirmed they responded to the disturbance. London Ambulance Service reported treating three individuals, with one person taken to hospital for further care.
Photographs seen by other outlets show the injured man being attended to by paramedics for facial wounds and a damaged finger.
The Metropolitan Police said the injuries were not life-threatening and confirmed that Toney has been released on bail as investigations continue.
Officers were also seen returning to Wardour Street the following day to gather additional evidence and speak with staff.
