Three operatives of the Nigerian troops of the 14 Brigade Headquarters, Nigerian Army, Ohafia, attached to the 144 Battalion, have been killed after gunmen attacked them in Aba, Abia State.Â
The soldiers were killed this morning, May 30, at the army outpost located on the popular Obikabia junction off Umuola in Aba North local government area of the state.
It was gathered that the masked gunmen who came in a black-coloured SUV, took the soldiers unawares.
The gunmen also made away with guns belonging to the soldiers and burnt their patrol van and set the outpost ablaze before leaving.
Following the attack, military aircraft was sighted hovering around the city centre.

Meanwhile, as of press time, the Nigeria has yet to issue a statement confirming the incident.
