Veteran Yoruba actor Ibrahim Bello Sanya, known as Baba Lawori, has asked for help after allegedly being attacked by Koko Zaria, the Lagos State National Union of Road Transport Workers boss.
In a viral video on his Instagram page on Monday, the actor explained that the incident occurred on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, during the 2024 Idimu Day event.

“Please save me from Koko Zaria, I do not know what I did to him,” he said. “While I was working as an MC, a man came on stage and told me Koko Zaria was calling me. When I went to him, he asked why I didn’t acknowledge him. I apologized and said I didn’t know he was there and promised to acknowledge him when I returned to the stage.
“As I turned back, a man with Koko Zaria took a bottle of Martell and broke it on my head. I was covered in my own blood and lost consciousness from the attack.”

The Nigerian Police have now said they will investigate the assault on Lawori by Koko Zaria, a chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated this in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.
In response to a video shared by Lawori and tagged by a user, @Oyindamola, Adejobi assured the public that justice will be served. “This will be investigated, and justice will be served. Many people have called me about this case,” he wrote.
