VeryDarkMan Comes For Vice President Shettima

Popular Nigerian social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has strongly criticized Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, over the persistent killings and insecurity in Borno State.
In a video circulating on social media Obtained by The News Chronicle on Saturday, the activist expressed frustration over the ongoing violence in the state, noting that despite Shettima being a former governor of Borno and now the Vice President, residents of the state continue to suffer attacks and killings by insurgents.
VeryDarkMan questioned what the people of Borno have gained from having one of their own as the country’s number two leader, arguing that many communities are still facing daily attacks and insecurity.
He also lamented that Nigerians appear to have become desensitized to reports of killings across the country, stating that even when large numbers of people are killed, the news barely generates reactions online because many citizens have grown tired of the situation.
The activist further referenced the recent case involving a former member of the National Youth Service Corps who was reportedly killed by kidnappers despite ransom being paid, saying the incident received little public attention.
According to him, while citizens continue to suffer from insecurity, the government is focusing on programmes to rehabilitate repentant terrorists and allocating billions of naira to such initiatives.
He concluded by questioning what Vice President Shettima would present to the people if he seeks reelection, asking what achievements he would point to amid the ongoing security challenges.
The remarks have sparked discussions online, with many Nigerians reacting to the criticism and the broader concerns about insecurity in parts of the country.
