Utilize Christmas Mass Return to build brotherliness, Resolve Conflicts – Ohaneze Youths urge Ndigbo

As Christians join their counterparts from across the world to celebrate this year’s Christmas, Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Wing has called on Ndigbo to utilize the opportunity occassioned by the mass return of the people during the period to resolve conflicts and entrench peace among the peoples of the region.

The Ohaneze Ndigbo Acting National Youth Leader, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, who made the call in his Christmas message on Monday, felicitated with christians in Southeast, urging them to keep hope alive ahead of the New year, 2024.

He stressed the need for Ndigbo to take advantage of the Christmas season to return home to build brotherlness, love and oneness.

He also noted that the season was opportunity to support various initiatives of Ohaneze, Southeast governors and other Pan Igbo groups, especially towards addressing the security question in the region.

While wishing christians merry Christmas and prosperous new year, Okpalaezeukwu urged them to exemplify virtuous of love and humility which the birth of Jesus Christ reflected.

He said, “I am pleased to use this season of Yuletide to felicitate all Christian faithful as they celebrate Christmas which commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ.

“This season is punctuated with sharing love with family members, friends and the underprivileged; and symbolically a time for self renewal, thus, charting a new beginning in your lives as Christian faithful.

“Let’s seize the moment to extend hands of love and compassion to the less privileged and downtrodden.

“As we reflect on the significance of Christmas, may I use the opportunity to appreciate your individual and collective contributions in building a united and virile Alaigbo devoid of violence, hatred and acrimony.

“Accordingly, I charge you to rededicate yourselves to your commitment to building a formidable Alaigbo every indigene of the zone will be proud of.

“I also urge Southeast governors to intensify security, especially at the various flashpoints in the region.

“As many that may travel during this festive period, I wish you journey mercies and divine protection to and fro your various destinations as you prioritize your personal security.”
