Use Osun Money for Osun People — Akpabio’s Message to Oyebamiji

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has said Osun State should be in a better condition, arguing that the federal allocations accruing to the state are sufficient to drive meaningful development.

Akpabio made the remark in Osogbo while campaigning for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of Saturday’s election.

He urged Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, to ensure prudent use of public funds and align with the Federal Government to deliver the dividends of democracy if elected governor.

According to the Senate President, state governments now receive substantial allocations from the federation account, enabling them to undertake critical infrastructure projects without relying heavily on borrowing.

“No state government is borrowing money for projects. Enough money is coming to the state, and Osun should be better than what I have seen. On the road between Ibadan and here, even the potholes are not fixed,” Akpabio said.

He charged the APC candidate to prioritise development immediately after assuming office.

“AMBO, once you are elected on Saturday and sworn in, you must immediately begin the progressive movement. You must transform Osun State and show the people that development is part and parcel of politics, that what they need is the dividends of democracy and not social media.”

Akpabio also prayed for the APC candidate’s success, urging him to channel the state’s resources towards improving infrastructure and working with the Federal Government to advance national development.

“May God guide you as you use Osun money for Osun people, as you transform the infrastructure, and as you join us at the centre to ensure that Nigeria is transformed,” he added.
