The United States of America has confirmed the death of the dreaded Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau.
The Council on Foreign Relations, a US security think-tank, made this confirmation after a thorough investigation.
The Council also claimed that the video released by Boko Haram, where Shekau appeared, was tailored.
According to the council, “in this latest 33 seconds video, Shekau was even further away from the camera, and only appeared to speak for ten seconds. The latest video released on YouTube, is perhaps the biggest sham in the history of terrorism media: latest ten second sham video of blurry ghost of late Shekau.
“This latest sham video clip is very identical to the August video which was also circulated by AFP, which US Council on Foreign Relation discredited as that of an imposter, except it has a black drape over the old background and Shekau’s image appears to have green-light peripheral shine around it, indicating super-imposition.”
The council also questioned the authenticity of the older video, giving the briefness of the video as a signal of Shekau, trying to avoid investigation.
“It appears Shekau, did not wish to risk thorough investigation of his video clip, hence, he made it as blurry, as distant from the camera and as short as possible. Ten seconds only, enough to say five words and quickly brush his ghost teeth,” the council said.
