University Lecturer in Kano Accused of Demanding Sex for Project Nabbed in Hotel

A university lecturer in Kano was reportedly caught in a hotel room with a married female student following allegations that he demanded sex in exchange for approving her final-year project.

According to claims circulating on social media, the lecturer allegedly refused to approve the student’s project unless she agreed to have a sexual relationship with him.

The reports further alleged that the student informed her husband about the lecturer’s demand, after which the couple devised a plan. The woman reportedly agreed to meet the lecturer and accompanied him to a hotel.

It was claimed that shortly after they entered the hotel room, the husband and several others confronted the lecturer, allegedly locking him inside before apprehending him.

Videos circulating online and obtained by The News Chronicle on Wednesday appear to show a crowd surrounding a man alleged to be the lecturer, with some individuals seen assaulting him with sticks and whips.

As of the time of filing this report, The News Chronicle had not independently verified the claims. Neither the university nor the police had issued an official statement regarding the alleged incident, and the identity of the lecturer had not been independently confirmed.
