UniCal Cracks Down on Trespassers of Green Spaces

The University of Calabar (UniCal) has thrown down the gauntlet against anyone trampling on its lush green spaces.

In a statement on Wednesday in Calabar, the Registrar, Dr. Chukwuka Icha, warned that the university would not hesitate to slap sanctions on anyone caught disrespecting these areas.

The move follows the new Vice Chancellor, Prof. Offiong Offiong’s, pledge to safeguard the campus greenery since taking office.

Dr. Icha also lamented the misuse and poor upkeep of the green zones, calling the situation “unfortunate.”

“Every member of the university community is to strictly comply with the directive to protect and restore the green environment.

“Anyone found walking on green areas will be subjected to appropriate sanctions,” he said.
