Ugochi Ihezue Crowned Miss Nigeria 2023

The 2023 Miss Universe Nigeria pageant has come to an end, and a deserving winner has been chosen after a week filled with numerous events.

Mitchel Ihezue, who was representing Imo State, has been named Miss Universe Nigeria 2023.

She became the first woman to win both esteemed beauty championships, a stunning accomplishment that has immortalized her name in the annals of Nigerian pageantry.

Ihezue overcame fierce opposition to win the prestigious Miss Universe crown, beating out 36 other exceptional competitors. The event was held on Sunday, September 10th, at the magnificent Convention Center of the Eko Hotels & Suites in Lagos.

Miss Borno won the Miss Amity award, Miss Taraba wowed in the Best Traditional Costume category, and Miss Nasarawa won the Miss Photogenic award at the event.

Sectra Okundaye of Zamfara, who won the title of Miss Supranational Nigeria 2023, will compete in Miss Supranational 2024 in Poland next year.

Princess Agunbiade, who represents Ekiti, came in second, with Tofe Olagoke from Lagos and Paula Ezendu from Anambra rounding out the Top 5.

Katsina, Cynthia Okoro, Olashubomi Balogun, Ogun, Jigawa, Perpetual Ukadike, Ebonyi, Chimamaka Immaculate Ali, Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas, Cross River, Louisa Jacob-Duke, Nasarawa, Nana Aisha Abubakar, Borno, Chinaza Miracle, Niger, Princess Harnet Eweka, and Ondo, Inem Shina round out the top 15.

Ihezue promotes women breaking free from social restrictions to embrace boundless possibilities in addition to the glitz and glamor. Her dedication to this cause prompted her to enroll in the demanding MBA program at the esteemed Lagos Business School, giving her the insights and qualities she needed to advocate for women’s emancipation.
