Ugandan Athlete Benjamin Kiplagat Found Stabbed to Death in Kenya

Kenyan police are investigating the tragic death of Benjamin Kiplagat, a three-time Ugandan Olympic representative, who was found dead with neck and chest stab wounds in a car near Eldoret.

The 34-year-old athlete was known for reaching the semi-finals in the 2012 London Olympics in the 3,000m steeplechase.

He was discovered on the outskirts of Eldoret, a prominent training center for athletes in the Rift Valley, Kenya.

Authorities, including local police commander Stephen Okal, have launched an investigation, stating that, “An investigation has been launched, and officers are on the ground pursuing leads.”

World Athletics has expressed shock and sadness over Kiplagat’s untimely demise.
