Matchday three of the UEFA Champions League delivered thrilling encounters, as Real Madrid mounted a stunning comeback from two goals down to secure a 5-2 victory over Dortmund.

Meanwhile, Arsenal edged past Shakhtar Donetsk, courtesy of an early own goal.

Vinícius Júnior was the star of the night in Madrid, netting a hat-trick after his team trailed 0-2 in the 34th minute. Antoine Rüdiger and Lucas Vázquez also found the back of the net, sealing a commanding win for Los Blancos.

Arsenal benefited from an own goal in the first half to secure three points and keep a clean sheet away at Shakhtar. Leandro Trossard missed a penalty that could have made it 2-0, but the Gunners held on for the slim win.

AC Milan capitalized on the efforts of Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika to cruise to a 3-1 win over Club Brugge. Christian Pulisic scored, while Dutchman Tijjani Reijnders netted twice, with Samuel Chukwueze providing one of the assists.

Aston Villa climbed to the top of the Champions League standings with a convincing 2-0 victory over Bologna, becoming the only team to secure nine points so far.

AS Monaco were relentless in a 5-1 rout of Crvena Zvezda. Takumi Minamino shone with two goals and an assist, while Breel Embolo, Wilfried Singo, and Maghnes Akliouche also got on the scoresheet. Cherif Ndiaye scored the visitors’ consolation goal in the first half.
