Following an accident he encountered a few days ago, Bayer Leverkusen has decided to replace Victor Boniface with German Wonderkid Francis Onyeka in the squad traveling to France for their Champions League match against Brest tonight.
The club made the announcement on their social media accounts ahead of their UEFA Champions League game against Stade Brest in France: “Victor Boniface has not traveled for #BrestB04, with Francis Onyeka replacing him in the squad.”
After Bayer Leverkusen’s weekend game against Eintracht Frankfurt, in which Boniface netted the winning goal, the Nigerian striker was said to have been involved in an accident that night. He confirmed the unfortunate incident on his Instagram status with the caption in the local parlance: “Naso una for just hear say my enemy don die.”
He has received best wishes from teammates, fans, and many others.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria wrote on Facebook: “Good to hear @boniface_jrn is well and okay. Let’s send him our wishes. Keep soaring, Eagle!”
