Uche Ogbodo Posts Narcissist Tips After Husband’s “Crown of Wife” Post

—

Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has responded to a cryptic social media post from her husband, singer Bobby Maris, with a series of Instagram Stories describing how to survive a relationship with a narcissist.

The exchange began when Bobby Maris posted a message online stating that “not all women’s heads are fit to wear the crown of wife.”

Uche Ogbodo did not respond to him directly. Instead, she posted a list of what she called key attitudes for dealing with a narcissist: consequences without overexplaining, unpredictable detachment, becoming useless to their exploitation, and becoming impossible to guilt-trip.

In a follow-up set of posts, she went further. She wrote that narcissistic men keep useful people close for the money and labor they provide, and that doing more for such a person does not earn respect. She advised that a woman whose partner is taking advantage of her efforts should withdraw her support so he feels the value of what he is losing. She also wrote that women should not try to be mothers to such men, since they are already aware of their own behavior.

Fans quickly connected the posts to the ongoing rumors about her marriage. Neither Uche Ogbodo nor Bobby Maris has confirmed a separation. However, followers noticed that the couple no longer follow each other on Instagram, which added to the speculation.

In the past, Uche Ogbodo previously called him her “heavyweight husband” while announcing her pregnancy in 2023. She described him as “a mighty man in a young body.” Before their wedding, she frequently praised him online, saying he made her heart sing.

The couple married traditionally in January 2023 in Uche Ogbodo’s hometown in Imo State. At the time, she announced that she had become Mrs Bobby Florentus Ugwoegbu. They have since had two children, a son and a daughter.

The posts drew reactions in the comments. One fan, @khadeejah.miemei, wrote: “U knew and stayed and now venting.” Other commenters were split between blaming Uche Ogbodo for ignoring warning signs before the marriage and defending her decision to speak out and set boundaries.

Uche Ogbodo’s situation follows a similar pattern to other recent cases in Nollywood, including actress Anita Joseph, who also addressed the end of her marriage in a social media post.
