U.S. Offers $1 Million Reward for Capture of Russian Hacker Tim Stigal

The U.S. Department of State has announced a $1 million reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Russian hacker Tim Vakhaevich Stigal.
Stigal is implicated in transnational organized crime, including computer intrusions and the theft of payment card data from U.S. businesses dating back to 2011.
The U.S. Department of Justice charged Stigal on January 17, 2024, accusing him of participating in conspiracies to traffic stolen payment card information from at least three U.S. corporations.
One of the schemes involved extortion, with threats to release stolen personal data if a ransom was not paid.
Stigal faces charges of wire fraud, computer fraud, extortion, and identity theft.
He is listed on the U.S. Secret Service’s Most Wanted Fugitive page.
Those with information can contact the U.S. Secret Service via email or through U.S. Embassies or Consulates.
