Two out of three Nigerians believe Atiku and Obi need not congratulate Tinubu – Poll

—

With the Supreme Court decision affirming the election of Tinubu as the president of Nigeria, attention was turned to the main litigants, Atiku of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party. Questions were raised as to what their reaction to the apex court decision should be; since there’s technically no further legal action possible after the highest court’s verdict, will they soldier on or shake hands with President Tinubu.

The News Chronicle conducted an online poll to know what Nigerians think about how Atiku and Obi should respond to the Supreme Court decision. Respondents were asked if they think Atiku and Obi should congratulate Tinubu on his court victory or if they shouldn’t.

Out of 22 respondents, 15 (68.2%) are of the opinion that Atiku and Obi should not congratulate President Tinubu on his Supreme Court victory, while 7 (31.8%) think that the duo of Atilu and Obi should congratulate President Tinubu.

The poll ran from October 30 to November 5, 2023
