The Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Hidayet Bayraktar, has announced Turkey’s readiness to collaborate with the Yobe state government on agricultural initiatives to harness the state’s extensive arable lands and other agricultural potentials.
During a courtesy visit to Governor Mai Mala Buni, on Friday, Ambassador Bayraktar expressed Turkey’s willingness to provide machinery and technical support for the state’s agricultural development.
In turn, the Yobe state government is expected to allocate the necessary land for the scheme.
Ambassador Bayraktar commended the Yobe state government for its dedication to transforming agriculture in the region.
He highlighted the importance of the partnership, stating that it would significantly boost agricultural productivity and economic growth in the state.
In response, Governor Buni emphasized that the scheme would create employment opportunities for the youth in Yobe state.
He noted that the state is focusing on a large-scale agricultural revolution, and the collaboration with Turkey would play a crucial role in engaging young people in productive activities.
“The government is committed to improving agriculture to enhance food sufficiency and food security,” Governor Buni stated. He assured that the state government would fulfill its obligations under the partnership with the Turkish government, ensuring that the collaboration would be pursued diligently for the benefit of the state and its residents.
“We will follow it to the letter for the benefit of our state and people,” Governor Buni assured.
