Troops Repel Boko Haram/ISWAP Ambush on Bama–Konduga Road in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai, successfully repelled an ambush by Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists along the Bama–Konduga Main Supply Route in Borno State.
According to reports, the soldiers, supported by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, were conducting an ambush mission under Operation Desert Sanity IV when they came under attack on Friday October 30 at about 7:38 p.m. near the Charlie 5 axis of the route.
The troops responded swiftly, engaging the terrorists believed to have come from the Geizuwa Sambisa forest area and forced them to retreat after a heavy exchange of gunfire.
A follow up operation on October 31 led to the recovery of the body of one terrorist within a 3-kilometre radius toward the Sambisa forest.
Security forces also recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine with eight rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 90 linked rounds of 7.62mm x 54mm ammunition, and four bicycles suspected to have been used by the fleeing insurgents.
No soldiers were injured during the encounter.
